Asana is defined as "posture;" its literal meaning is "seat." Originally, the asanas served as stable postures for prolonged meditation. More than just stretching, asanas open the energy channels, chakras and psychic centers of the body. Asanas purify and strengthen the body and control and focus the mind. Asana is one of the eight limbs of classical Yoga, which states that asana should be steady and comfortable, firm yet relaxed.
Yoga Asanas role  is in reducing the amount of fat, especially fat around the internal organs are located deep in the folds of the abdomen .
Some yoga exercises
Pavan Muktasan exercise

 Time: half a minute each leg
The way
   -lie on  your back 
   -Breathe deeply Then fold the left leg from the knee 
  -Hold the fingers together and bring the folded leg to touch your stomach  
  -The other leg must remain straight
  -Hold the breathand Come to original position and leave the breath. Follow the same steps for the other leg.
Benefits
-Increase the flexibility of the knees and hips .
-Get rid of abdominal gas and reduce abdominal fat
Bhujangasan exercise

 
time:half a minute
The way 
-Start by lying on your stomach. Place your palms on the ground below your shoulders. Raise your upper -body off the ground by using your back muscles. Raise yourself until your head is upright.
-Do not use your hands, but must remain on the ground or mounted on the back above the hip.
 Benefits
-Helps in keeping the dorsal spine elastic and strong.
-Recovering from back pain caused by stress and fatigue.  
Dhanurasan  exercise
the way
Start by lying on your stomach
Hold the ankles then  Drag your hand and push legs.
Until the arc is formed with only the stomach on the ground. Look up.
Benifits
Reduce abdominal fat. And raises the pressure on the spine.
